How do we acknowledge the environment?
We try to do the right things every day.

Skyline Design is actively engaged in sustainable practices as part of an
ongoing effort of environmental preservation. From sourcing local materials and fabrication processes to optimizing energy use, minimizing water use and transportation materials, to using low-VOC paints and finishes, Skyline is progressive in meeting and exceeding its environmental standards.
All Skyline products are manufactured in Chicago.

Materials and Sourcing

Source Locally
Utilize sustainable and renewable materials, including FSC-certified wood for crates and Greenplay furnishings
Skyline Recycling Program for glass, metals, wood pallets, packing materials, corrugated paper packaging and paper; plastic, batteries, toner and printer cartridges and chemicals also included
Minimize waste through recycling, reusing and rethinking our materials and processes

Production Practices

Water Reclamation: state-of-the-art glass washers capture, filter and reuse the water used to clean our glass
Use Low-VOC products
Non-Chemical Etching Process is applied to media, recirculated, and used over and over again without loss to quality. Eliminating the use of acid etching benefits our employees and the environment.
Proprietary AST Process emits zero VOCs, eliminating the need for laminated inner layers, and reducing energy requirements.
Transportation: A returnable frame system exchange between major suppliers and customers revolutionized our transportation logisitics. We utilize Just-In-Time delivery for our raw materials and reuse wood pallets to reduce footprint concerns and transportation, crating and labor costs.
Housekeeping: Skyline avoids cleaning products that contain toxic chemicals, caustics and detergents, using certified non-toxic products and cleaning with the basics.
